Ordinary Days

Well, it's catch up time for me again.

Why is it that I can't seem to get anything done with Troy and the kids around? Oh well. We're having fun, right?

17/365 Too big, too small

I have always wanted a dining room table, but it just hasn't been in the cards for us. But the time is finally at hand. We are going to buy our first dining room set. I am SUPER excited. Now, only if we could find one we like! Josh and Becky were troopers and went shopping with us. Too bad sitting in this ginormous chair was the most fun they had all day.

18/365 Too Tired

Poor Troy. He is always exhausted by the end of the week, and he has gotten to the point where he can fall asleep anywhere. Even with the kids running around like crazy, the TV on, and me snapping photos, he never did wake up. I think this is just one more sign that he is getting old.

19/365 What's one more?

So, the kids had sleepovers today. It's so funny. One person asks for one, and pretty soon I am inundated with requests for friends to come over and play and spend the night. At a certain point, does one more kid make any difference? No, not really.

20/365 Self Portrait

I know. You were beginning to wonder if I was going to be in any of these photos. When I was trying to figure out what today's photo might be, I was thinking of all the things I do, and really, one of my most enjoyable pastimes is scrapping. And, often, while I am scrapping, I end up on the phone with Erica. So, this is me scrapping, talking to Erica. I tried to get her to take a photo of herself so I would have a set. But, no such luck.

Good luck with the dining set; I'd like to get a nice one before all our kids move out :)

We've been looking for a dining room table too and have had a hard time finding one big enough for our family, but small enough to fit in our dining room (and that we like). I look forward to seeing what you get.

Cute pictures!

Are you sure Troy is asleep? As another man who "occasionally" falls asleep unexpectedly; he may be in such a deep state of awareness that he appears asleep to the untrained eye. :-)

Congrats on the new table. I'm excited to see what you guys pick out.

And poor Troy (chuckle, chuckle). Give the kids a camera and let them take a picture of you asleep from exhaustion. Oh, wait. Moms don't do that!

And by the looks of the sleepover picture, everyone but Katie had someone over? But you're right, what is a few more when you've already got six?

Can't wait to see what you pick out! Let me know which furniture stores out here have good dining room stuff in it.

I think you're so funny about one more kid not making a difference--when I was teaching one more kid added to the class could make a huge difference depending on personality. Not to mention it was more papers to xerox and grade and one more child to look after. :)

Glad to see more pictures of you on your own blog!

Ben and Troy should get together and take a nap--Ben looks the same quite often on our couch. The commute is a killer when he has to get up at 4:30 and doesn't get home until 5:30.

I say just go for 2 of those big chairs and one table. That chair is HUGE!

I don't know if you saw this comment I left during the speed scrap the other night, so I thought I'd post it to your blog as well.

I've never been to your blog before, so when I saw we were "channeling" your style, I clicked on your blog to see a little more about you. And then when I saw the name of your blog, I HAD to comment.

My hubbie tells EVERYONE that we're having 12 kids as well!! He claims that when we were dating I made a comment that I would have as many kids as he wanted and that's why he married me, but I made no such comment. And whenever people ask us how many kids we have, he'll say "4 - we're a third of the way there" or "4 - only 8 more to go". He is SO wrong. :)

I'm on my 5th (he should be here in about 8 weeks) and if I don't go crazy after having him, I'll have one more. But I'm definitely thinking six will be the end of it for me. :)

Anyway, I just couldn't resist commenting....seems our hubbies have something in common!
