Where is a Hole When You Need One?

So...I left the car lights on all night.

Thankfully, the car started this morning.

But, as I was running errands, I came out to my car and pushed the automatic unlock on my keys...nothing.

CRAP.

I pushed it a couple more times, and nothing.

Finally...I gave it a little jiggle, and it opened.

Phew.

As I pulled the car door open, I knew instantly that something was wrong...but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Then it hit me.

This wasn't my car.

But...how did I get it to open?

Well, one quick look over my shoulder at the very unhappy lady behind me said it all.

CRAP.

Ah, we all need a little puddle of quicksand every now and then....
Thanks for putting my very busy day into perspective! No such problems for me, as I A) don't have automatic locks on the car, and B) I did everything by bicycle today, as Theo needed the car more!
Thanks for blogging! I missed the regular updates!

Too stinkin' funny!

I think you've enlightened the only advantage of owning a 10-year-old "cranberry"-colored Plymouth Grand Voyager. Still, I'd rather have your Honda any day - especially now that I can't open the trunk with either my key fob or the actual key. {sigh}

LOL! Reminds me of a friend's story about returning from his mission, going to the movies and driving what he thought was the family car home late at night. The next morning when his mom asked whose car was parked in the garage, he realized he had stolen a car! He then got to call the police, track down the owner.... well you get the idea. Apparently, a few cars of the same make and model actually use the same key -- maybe you also found your car's soulmate.

I have a pre-made hole in my backyard for the dozens of times each week I need to hide in it! Feel free to come hide with me next time. :)

This is something I would do. NOW THAT made my day. That is too funny. I am sure this will make a great story for years to come. You will be telling your kids and grandkids this for a long time.

That was the best laugh I have had in months. I'm sending my sisters to read this story. Your pain is my joy today. Thanks for sharing.

It sounds like something I'd do!

Actually, every time we take Dave's green accord somewhere, inevitably there is another identical green accord next to us. I can't tell you the number of times I have pulled on handles of cars and gotten dirty looks from people inside or outside of 'their' car.
