It Was the Lie

So, with all the drama, I'm sure you are thinking that the kids did something pretty major to lose Christmas.

But it wasn't major.

It was actually something really small and stupid.

But what really got me was the LIE!

I hate when you ask, "Who did this?"

And the answer from EVERYONE is, "Not me!"

I just couldn't stand it anymore.

So...I held Christmas hostage until "Not me" became "I did it."

Doing something naughty is one thing...lying about it is something else all together.

Genius idea, and I totally agree.

My parents held a lot of holidays hostage when I was a kid and look how I turned out...

Never mind, maybe you don't want to look too hard. :)

Denise, I swear we are living the same life just in different parts of the world. I went through this same thing just this past weekend. The funny thing is some of my other kids "lied" about doing said action when they really didn't just so no one else would get into trouble. Well, that's not acceptable either, very selfless, but not acceptable. Finally guilt overcame the guilty person and they came forward. Isn't parenting fun?!!!

I think I'll hold Christmas hostage next time.

Totally agree Denise! Lying is NEVER tolerated at our house either - no matter how big or small.
