Now, That's Just WRONG

Joe and Emma learned about puberty this week...we don't have the kids attend these things at school, since we want to be the ones to tell them about it.

So we each went in with them (Troy with Joe, and me with Emma) and watched the videos that the school provides. Then we took the time to explain and answer questions not only about puberty but also about the birds and the bees.

And can I just tell you, that with each new thing that we talk about, they both became more and more disgusted (which I am totally okay with -- you know, until they are ready to get married!).

And finally, Joe gets this REALLY REALLY MORTIFIED look on his face, as the ultimate horror finally blooms in his young mind, "You mean...you and dad?"

"GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSS."

Ah. The joys of parenthood.

Classic. I love it. Good for you guys to be upfront about it and discuss it with the kids. Great way to do it.

Now that is funny. So what do you think of the video anyway? We also do not have our kids attend those. And our kids are pretty much the only ones here at this new school. Geez, Denise you guys are SO GROSS. :)

I'm torn as to if I will let Conner be in on the discussions or not... we've already had "the coversation" here, I guess I'll just need to preview what they're doing.
Why do you not send your kids to it?

Oh that is funny!!! The birds and the bees talk is not my fav. with the kids. But like you, I'd rather be the one to discuss with my kids rather then from other sources not so reliable.

It's fun to be grose!!!
