And as much as I love my kids, I struggle a little more (right now) with my boys than my girls...simply because I don't get them. I don't get boys. I don't get men either, so I really shouldn't be surprised.
But boys just do things that seem INSANE to me.
Why did you jump off that?
Why did you throw that?
Why did you destroy that?
Why did you color your sister blue?
But I found this little quote that just SEEMED so right...so here's to little boys.
Boys are found everywhere-on top of, underneath of, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around, or jumping to.So, while I may not always understand my little boys, I do love them. And there is nothing better than a little boy who loves his mom.
Mothers love them, little girls hate them, older brothers and sisters tolerate them, adults ignore them, and Heaven protects them.
A boy is Truth with dirt on its face, Beauty with a cut on its finger, Wisdom with bubble gum in its hair, and the Hope of the future, with a frog in its pocket.

I understand everything you said. And it's funny how the boys can be so roudy one minute and melting my heart with, "Mom, you're beautiful," the next. I'm in the same boat with "not getting them". I decided I needed to bond with them more so that I could appreciate their rough and tumble nature. So now, I have a handshake that I just do with my boys. Anytime I say, "Good Job" or "How was your day?", we do this handshake. We also do it when I tuck them in at night. This has helped me communicate to them in their language. It's also allowed me to feel closer to them amidst all the jumping, throwing, yelling, etc.
Great page! And why is it that boys always like to hide under desks!? I don't know how many pictures I have of the boys hiding under things like that. Your life wouldn't be as rich, if your boys weren't in it! Thank God for them.
Hey Denise!!
Remember me? I was your college roommate Kim. Charlene just gave me your blog address so I thought I would see what you are up to. Take care. Your family is beautiful!! Come see me sometime kims5.blogspot.com
I hear ya! I definitely don't always understand their though process, but they sure give good hugs and kisses!
I may have to still that quote and read it on a daily basis!
Amen sista' amen.
I once found a quote:
"Boys are noise with dirt on it."
Uh huh....
Immediately after Bronson was born, I remember thinking 'What on earth am I going to do with a boy?' Now, I wonder what on earth I would do without them!
